Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all!

For 2024 I have decided to combine the blog and sketchbook areas of my website.

For a lot of artists their sketchbook is part journal, a place where they record their thoughts and feelings through sketches, as well as being a place to capture ideas and inspiration, plan new paintings, test new techniques and work out how to handle more challenging elements before committing to adding it into a piece of art.

It is our first drafts, our rough workings out and our practice pieces. Perfection is not the aim here, mistakes are there to be examined and learnt from, rather than hidden or thrown away.
