Why Am I Learning Landscape Painting?

So why am I learning to paint watercolour landscapes when I specialize in motorsport art?

So many motorsport events are held in beautiful settings, that I want to be able to do those justice in the backgrounds of my paintings.

Think of the beautiful Manx countryside, backdrop to the Isle of Man TT races, the lakes and forrests of Rally Finland or the expansive sand dunes crossed by competitor in the Paris Dakar rally.

To be able to capture the unique character and beauty of each setting is my goal.

These simple landscape practice exercises are the start of my journey towards that end goal.
